ABOUT THE POSITION
Next to offering students courses in business and management, IESEG also places a high emphasis on the soft/people skills development of students and their connection with business and the corporate world.
The Professor will have the responsibility to coordinate and work closely with the different departments and tracks within the school (e.g., the humanities and intercultural track) as well as the Career Center in order to manage a People Skills curriculum valuable to future graduates in the job market. To further develop this axis, we are looking for a professor with the following responsibilities:
- Analyze our current course offering related to soft/people skills and coordinate the redesign thereof, in collaboration with the Academic Direction of the Grande Ecole program and the Corporate Relations Direction. The professor will also promote the integration and the implementation of soft/people skills in the business/management disciplines from an interdisciplinary perspective. The professor/candidate will thereby also contribute to the organization of interdisciplinary projects.
- Support the management of adjunct faculty involved in delivering courses related to soft/people skills (i.e., their recruitment, staffing, day-to-day management, annual evaluation)
- Teach courses related to soft/people skills
Moreover, we are looking for candidates to either complement the above with research (securing publications in academic or practice-oriented journals, books or case studies) or a part-time professional activity outside of the school, related to soft/people skills. Importantly, applicants should embody the values of the school and be team players.
Applicants should possess at least an MBA or Master degree (or a PhD for researchers) and should be fluent in English as nearly all courses at IESEG are taught in this language. Prior knowledge of French is a very important asset.
When applying, please upload a single pdf file merging the following documents:
- A curriculum vitae (mentioning the names, affiliations, and email addresses of two referees)
- A cover letter
- A teaching statement and recent teaching evaluations
- For researchers: a research statement and working paper
Two recommendation letters should be sent separately by the referees to:
Dr. Elise Marescaux
Head of the Department of “People, Organizations and Negotiation”
